Houserules

This will host an archive of house rules for a future version of D20 based mostly on OGL Content. It won’t necessarily be backwards compatible with 3.5 or Pathfinder, but sometimes backwards compatibility gets in the way of true progress.

    Race creation: the standard races gain four minor traits and 2 major traits that are endemic to the race. In addition to these, the player can add an additional 2 minor traits and 1 major trait to show that not all persons from the race are created equal. You may also sacrifice two minor traits for a major trait or you may trade a minor flaw for a minor trait and a major flaw for a major trait.

    An example of a minor flaw would be a -4 penalty for diplomacy checks when dealing with individuals outside of your race.

    An examples of a major flaw would be you receive no weapon proficiencies from your class.

  2. Proposed weapon/combat skills or weapon groups, if you prefer:

    Axe
    Bow
    Crossbow
    Flail
    Hammer
    Heavy Blade
    Light Blade
    Mace
    Pick
    Polearm
    Sling
    Spear
    Staff
    Unarmed
    * Light Firearms
    * Heavy Firearms
    * Advanced Firearms

    * These items require a feat before you may place combat skill points in them.
